Aloo Paratha (easy version)

Atta (wheat flour) - 1 cup

Potato - 2 large (boiled, peeled and mashed)

Green chilli - 2 (finely chopped) or chilli powder - 1 tsp

Chopped coriander leaves - 2 Tbsp

Turmeric powder - a pinch

Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp

Salt - to taste

Oil - 2 tsp

Water - as required

Preparation Method

Mix together atta, mashed potatoes, green chilli, turmeric powder, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves, salt and oil.

Then add water little by little and knead the flour for few minutes until soft.

Keep it aside for 30 minutes.

Now divide the dough into equal parts and roll into smooth balls. Flour the surface and roll the dough slightly thicker in round shape.

Place it on hot tawa or pan.

Apply butter or ghee when it starts to turn golden brown on one side.

Turn it over and apply butter or ghee.

Keep turning until it turns golden brown on both sides.

Serve hot with any curry of your choice or with raita.


I make parathas a bit thicker, roll it thin or slightly thick as per your choice.
