Aloo Tikki / Potato Patties  

Preperation Time: 20 min.

Cooking Time: 15 min.

Serves: 4 - 6 (10 - 12 tikkies)


Potato - 500gms (boiled, peeled and mashed)

Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

Chaat masala - 1 tsp

Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Corn flour - 1  - 2 tsp

Salt - to taste

Chopped coriander leaves - a few

Bread crumbs of 4 slices of white bread

Oil - as required

Preparation Method

Add bread crumbs, chopped coriander leaves, chilli powder, chaat masala, salt, lemon juice and corn flour into the mashed potato and mix well. (Adjust the corn flour as required as it helps in binding).

Make medium sized balls with this and flatten them into round shape (about 1 cm thickness).

Heat oil in a flat frying pan on a low - medium flame and when it gets hot, shallow fry the patties till turn light golden in colour on both sides.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.

    You can also bake the tikkies till they turn golden in colour and crisp on both sides.
