Chilli Paneer

Serves: 4


Paneer - 200gms (diced)

Onion - 1 (chopped)

Capsicum - 1 (chopped)

Ginger - 1 tsp (chopped)

Garlic - 2 tsp (chopped)

Green chilli - 3 tsp (chopped)

Spring onion chopped - 3 tsp (1 tsp for garnishing)

Celery - 3 tsp (chopped)

Soy sauce - 2 Tbsp

Chilli sauce - 1 Tbsp

Corn starch - 2 Tbsp (corn flour mixed with water)

Maida (flour) - 1/4 cup

Corn flour - 1/4 cup

Salt - to taste

Preparation Method

Mix 1/4 cup maida and 1/4 cup corn flour with salt and water. (make sure that batter is not too watery).

Dip paneer into the batter and mix well.

In a pan add 1/4 cup of oil. When it becomes hot, deep fry paneer pieces till it turns light golden brown and then keep aside.

Heat oil in another pan.

Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli and sauté for about 2 minutes.

Then add celery, spring onion and sauté for another couple of  minutes.

Add capsicum and sauté for  about 4 minutes.

Then add soy sauce, chilli sauce and sauté for a while on a low flame.

Add corn flour starch (to thicken the gravy), paneer, 5 Tbsp of water and mix well.

Heat through for about 3 minutes and turn the flame off.

Garnish it with spring onion and the dish is ready to be served.


If you would like to have more gravy, you can add more corn flour starch along with soy sauce.
