Mushroom Masala  


This is a semi dry dish and an excellent combination to be served with roti and chapati. Mushrooms are one of my favourite veggies, so when I found this recipe from a cookery show you can only imagine what kind of joy I felt. If you happen to be a mushroom lover then obviously you’ll be feeling the love too...

Serves: 4

Ingredients


Mushrooms - 250gms (diced)

Bay leaf - 1

Cloves - 4

Cinnamon stick - 1 inch piece

Ginger chopped - 1 Tbsp

Onion - 1 (chopped)

Tomato - 1 (chopped)

Green chilli - 1/2 tsp (chopped)

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp or to taste

Cumin powder - 1 tsp

Kasoori methi - 1Tbsp

Salt - to taste

Oil - 2 Tbsp

Preparation Method


In a pan heat oil and add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon and sauté for a while.

Add onion, ginger, green chilli and sauté for 3 - 4 minutes.

Add tomatoes and mix well. Cover it for about 6 -8 minutes till tomatoes become soft.

Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and sauté for a while.

Add mushrooms and cook for about 7 - 8 minutes (uncover the lid) and stir occasionally.

Add kasoori methi (rub it with hands then add) and saute for a while.

Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.

Your dish is ready to be served.
