Pacha Cherupayar Thoran / Green Moong Dal Stir Fry

Ingredients


Whole green moong dal (pacha cherupayar) - 200gms

Grated coconut - 1/2 cup, optional

Crushed red chilli flakes - 2 tsp

Shallots - 10 (chopped)

Oil - 2 tsp

Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

Dry red chilli - 1

Curry leaves - a few


Preparation Method


Soak green moong dal overnight and cook with enough water. Drain excess water and keep moong dal aside.

Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and sauté dry red chilli and curry leaves.

Add shallots and saute till it turns golden bown.

Turn the flame to very low and add crushed chilli flakes & saute for a while.

Add cooked green moong dal, grated coconut and salt. Mix well.

Saute for 2 - 3 minutes.

Turn the flame off and enjoy it with rice..



Notes:

I didn't add grated coconut and it did taste really good..so its upto you..
