Serves: 3 - 4

Ingredients


Chana dal (kadala parippu) - 1 Tbsp

Dry red chillies / Unakka mulaku - 2

Onion - 1 big, 150 gms (sliced)

Ginger - 1 " piece (sliced)

Tomato - 2, 200 gms (sliced)

Salt - to taste

Oil - 1 Tbsp


Preparation Method


Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a pan and add chana dal and saute for few seconds. Then add dry red chillies and saute till the chana dal turns light golden in colour. (Make sure that you dont burn them)

Transfer into a bowl and keep aside.

Into the same oil, add onion, ginger and saute till onion turn transparent. Onion doesn't need to turn golden brown.

Then add the tomatoes and saute till tomatoes become soft (for about 2 - 3 minutes).

Turn the flame off and let it cool.

Blend the above all ingredients along with salt to a smooth paste without water.

Transfer into a serving bowl.

Serve with Dosa or Idli.
